Amazon has partnered with Verra to develop a carbon credit integrity label for agroforestry and reforestation – how will it stack up?

The “Abacus” label was initially announced in 2022 and is, for agroforestry and restoration projects, an alternative framework to indicate a project has gone “above and beyond” the current VCS standard. Eligible projects use Verra’s VM0047 Afforestation, Reforestation, and Revegetation methodology that also meet the Abacus label requirements.
